Annual Allie's Angels Day To Bring Smiles To Seriously Ill

The first annual Allie's Angels
Day will take place Sunday, September 22, 2002 from 1:00-4:00pm
at Boulan Park, 3671 Crooks Road, Troy Michigan. (300 children
and their families have been invited to attend this event)
Allie's Angels is a non-profit
organization dedicated to bringing smiles to children with life
threatening illnesses, providing love and assistance to their
families, and finding a cure for pediatric brain cancer.
Allie's Angels Day is set up to
create Allie's Angels Bags for seriously ill children throughout
Michigan. Children attending Allie's Angels Day will choose fun
and useful items to place in Allie's Angels Bags. The bags are
bright and colorful and will be filled with items specially
chosen for children who are suffering life threatening
illnesses. Most of the items have been donated by local and
national retailers, and include "fairy spray" to chase
the scary feelings away, books, games and toys as well as many
other goodies. Allie's Angels Volunteers will distribute the
bags throughout the year to children's hospitals in Michigan.
Allie's Angels was created in
memory and in celebration of the life of Allie Cibulas, who was
diagnosed at the age of 4 1/2 with an inoperable brain tumor.
Allie passed away in September, 2001.
"When we lost Allie a year
ago, we truly didn't know how to make sense of this tragedy and
find a meaningful way to go on." Said Steve and Sandy
Cibulas, Allie's parents.
"But our family and friends helped us to build this
wonderful tribute to our daughter, one that brings children
and families together to help others facing the extremely
difficult circumstances that we faced."
Children attending Allie's Angels
Day will go through "Angel Stations" set up to help
them create goodie bags made with love for children their own
age. They will also create their own craft and a personal letter
of encouragement to insert in the bags. Games and activities are
